Defn: Nanosecond.  10^-9 seconds, an amazingly short period of time. A
nanosecond is the time it takes light to go on foot.  But more easily grasped,
a nanosecond is the interval between the time that the light turns green and
the taxi behind you leans on the horn.  I mean, we're talking short here.
