A little while later a guy yells out "Hey, here's one: 83!!!"

Nobody laughs.  There is a deep silence, and everyone just
shakes his head.  The rookie is baffled.  "What's wrong?"
he asks his mentor.  "Why didn't anyone laugh?"

"Oh, that Henderson," the veteran says.  "He refuses to
accept the fact that he just doesn't know how to tell
ethnic jokes."
