g'Day,

I'm just starting to use a modem.  Could someone please summerize for
me the different transfer protocols used by/for the Mac. I'd like to
find out what macput/get, binhex and the others are about.  I want to
know in advance how do do things with what I download.  A friend of mine
already has some stuff he can't use (a bunch of ascii strings with colons
in column 1) and spent a bunch of money downloading.
