I am posting this announcement for the applications group at AMD,
which uses the VAX 750 named "amd". I am not involved with that
machine in any way. In fact, it isn't even in the same city I am.

Yesterday the CDC 9766 which held /usr/spool, among other things,
suffered a head crash. Site "amd" will be down as long as it takes to
fix the problem. No idea how long that will be but I guess early next
week. Any mail directed through "amd" may have been lost. They do not
do backups on /usr/spool.

"amd" also has a Fujitsu eagle which has never given any problems.
(do they ever?)
