I had that problem to, but fixed it by checking most of the type cast.

It appears that there are long's and int's used together in notes.
Also on 2.9BSD if statements with longs and constants, need the contants
to be of type long (i.e. 0100L not 0100).


For all who are interested I run 11/44 & 11/73 with 2.9BSD and ther
version of notes 1.7.01, which should be fairly recent. Note that this
release of notes (just the 'notes' program itself) needs overlays.

I don't use the newsinput or newsoutput as I get notes feed to by by
uiucdcs. But everything else seems to work.
