A friend of mine was wondering about Mongooses/geese.

1)  Are they legal to have as pets?
2)  Are they obtainable?
3)  Do they make good pets?  How hard are they to take care of?
4)  What do they eat other than snakes?
5)  What is the plural of Mongoose anyway?

Any info or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
