The solution says that one of the surnames is "Collins", but this surname does not appear in the puzzle. The surname "Collin" appears (in plural form) in clue 2: "The Collins bought . . .". Evidence that the puzzle was stated in standard English can be found in references to "the Craigs", "the Marshalls", and "the Douglasses", e.g. If there were a Collins couple, clue 2 would have been "The Collinses bought . . .". -- Morris M.
