Summary: Collin != Collins

The posted solution does not agree with the posted puzzle.  The solution says
that one of the surnames is "Collins", but this surname does not appear in the
puzzle.  The surname "Collin" appears (in plural form) in clue 2: "The Collins
bought . . .".  Evidence that the puzzle was stated in standard English can be
found in references to "the Craigs", "the Marshalls", and "the Douglasses", e.g.
If there were a Collins couple, clue 2 would have been "The Collinses 
bought . . .".
