Note the time that you pass the next milepost. At the next milepost, note the time again. Calculate the elapsed seconds between the two mileposts, and look up the entry in the table. This gives the speed in MPH. I clocked the Coast Starlight in November; but I don't have the numbers at hand. --Steve -------
