Water content (if known): around .15 (we melted snow) Backcountry avalanche hazard: high X-C Wax: blue Lift Lines wait (if a downhill resort): none Ancillary Comments: it was good to get away from work after The incident; this was the (I think) 36th annual Caltech Synch. Rad Lab trip as Pat Burke explained the history. We had mostly geologists talking about computers [my god, can't get away] (talking about tbl/eqn, Sun-3s and uVax-2s). We had a token EE from the Galileo project and I was the token comp. sci. person. Skiers are generally getting better because we now have 8 people doing steep descents where we had 2/3 before. A snow pit had hard layers atop weaker layers. One storm blew all the good snow away leaving a wind crust over soft snow (2/1). Lots of other fun which I won't cover.
