Anyone interested in the topic might also read _Discretion and Valour_
by Trevor Beeson (sp?).  It examines the situation of various religious
groups (Jews, Orthodox, Uniate, and some I'd never heard of before)
throughout Eastern Europe, and particularly in the Soviet Union.
