While it is true that about 5 nukes/day are built, about that many are taken out of service too. Nuclear weapons wear out over time, through (surprise!) radioactive processes and need to be replaced. How many of these news bombs are REALLY new I don't know, but not all of them are, in fact my guess is that most (if not all) are replacement devices.
