NEDERLOFF" Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 16 I and several of my colleagues have been discussing the solid rocket boosters extensively since the shuttle disaster. Does anyone have a more detailed description of the chemical process used to fuel the SRB's? I have heard it's an adaptation of the thermite reaction, and if so, what is used to trigger the boosters upon launch? I'd appreciate whatever information you can send me. Thanks.
