Maybe for ucla >but it wouldn't have been for OU or Nebraska. It is! Pac-10 is a much more balanced conference than the Big-8. The winner of Oklahoma/Nebraska had no trouble sweeping the Big 8, but keep dreaming for sweeping the Pac-10. BTW, the top four teams of the Pac-10 are not even as strong as the top four teams of the SEC and the Big-10. As I asked before, had Oklahoma been a member of SEC and played three of Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Tennesse, and Georgia, or a member of Big 10 and played Iowa, Ohio State, and Michigan, do you really think the Sooners can sweep the conference and get a chance to play in the title game? I know you will say "yes" because your opinions on college footbal are not even as honest and realistic as Dennis Doubleday's or Ron Vaughn's, two other sooner diehards. Once again, I never doubt Oklahoma's dominance against Penn St. I just claim their regular season schedule and record are not adequate proof that they deserve a 50% shot at the national title. Again, just based on the regular season, even Miami is more deserved to play in the title game than Oklahoma. >> For all Boomer Sooners, why don't you just enjoy your >>national championship? But maybe >you know something they don't? If I can vote in the poll, I would have voted for Oklahoma also, because they got the best RECORD under this system. However, I always claim that this system is not the best way to determine the best team in the nation. We can't get the best team without a playoff system, as in all other sports. Too bad, maybe I am the only person who knows that! -- Eddy Lor ...!(ihnp4,ucbvax)!ucla-cs!lor lor@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU Computer Science Department, UCLA
