A student here at Georgia Tech also thought it was in poor taste to name a 
building after someone while he was still alive, or at least while he was still
there. 

I agree, and since I don't want all those people at UNC to be embarrassed by 
this silliness, I move we make it the "Dean E. Smith MEMORIAL SAC". All in
favor, say "aye".
