MICHIGAN WILL BEAT ILLINOIS THIS WEEK BY AT LEAST 10 POINTS >> Predictions: >> Michigan 85 Purdue 75 >> Michigan 75 Illinois 60 > >well you were close on the first game: actual score was UM 80 Purdue 79 But deadly wrong on the second one: FINAL: Illinois 83, Michigan 79 (OT) Michigan may be a good team, but they sometimes play poorly. They lost TWO previous games by a total of 22 points, whereas Illinois lost SEVEN previous games by a total of 21 points. In tournament play, a consistent (and good) team maybe outplayed by an average team with exceptional performance (we have all seen that at last year's ncaa final), but an inconsistent team certainly has more chance of being eliminated at any time. Illinois is struggling for the ncaa berth now, but if they get in, I'll bet that they will go farther than Michigan does. They have some real talented players, but unfortunately the incompetence of their head coach keeps them from winning those close games. Yuhjeng Lee ylee@uiuc
