How about because *Nimoy requested it* ??? It seems to me that some people are afraid of change. Characters should grow, change, die. STAR TREK is not just the Enterprise; it's not just Spock; it's a combination of many different elements and greater than the sum of its parts. If STAR TREK cannot "survive" without Spock or the Enterprise, than it doesn't deserve to exist in the first place. If Harve Bennett made any mistake, it was not telling Nimoy, "Sorry, Leonard, too late now," when Nimoy decided he enjoyed playing Spock so much in TWOK that they should figure out some way of bringing Spock back. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC, Acton-Nagog, MA) UUCP: {decvax|ihnp4|allegra|ucbvax|...} !decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-akov68!boyajian ARPA: boyajian%akov68.DEC@DECWRL.DEC.COM
