According to this morning's newspaper, Joe Coffey will be fatally 
wounded in an upcoming episode later this month. It seems that Ed
Marinaro was not satisfied with the amount of air time his character
was receiving and wants out of the show to pursue other acting jobs.
Also another major character will be wounded, but I don't want to give
too much away.
