Thank you all for your responses to my request for a "magic cookie" (thanks
for the lingo) termcap entry.  Part of my problem was that the termcap(5)
manual entry, page 6, says that ug#? is used to specify the number of spaces
left by standout/standend, when in fact it is sg#?.

However, thank you to those who confirmed (as I was beginning to suspect)
that 4.2 curses punts on terminals with sg#?.  At least now I know that
for sure, so I know that I have to work around it.

I am responding on the net because our mailer kept barking at me when
I tried to respond individually, and also I wanted to summarize what
I had found out.  Thank you again.
