I would like to display it on the status line, if available. I've never used EMACS, but I've used FINE, which is similar. FINE displays a percent of buffer on the status line. I would like to perform a similar operation with TPU. I don't know anything about TPU. But please note that what you want is the number of the current character, not the current line, to get the correct percentage. Otherwise, if lines above are unusally long and lines below unusually short, or vice versa, the percentage could be quite inaccurate. ...Keith
