I have purchased them at Reeds Sport Shop in San Jose. They are exspensive, @ $15.00 for 6 rounds (.357), but you don't go around shooting them like wadcutters. They are similar in principle to a shotgun shell. The .357 shells consist of an 85 grain slug filled with small shot. It has a plastic wad holding the shot into the hollow slug. They are rated at about 1800 fps. Upon impact and within 1 inch of penetration the slug releases the shot which then spreads within the target. This action transfers the maximum amount force to the target. NO wasted energy. They are good for home defense because they will not go through a body, will drop the intruder, and will not go through the walls into the neighbors house.
