I am preparing notes for a discussion here on
novel and/or "natural" architectures.  

A novel architecture might be any of the analog gadgets
recently described in the Computer Recreations column in 
Scientific American.  A natural architecture for parallel 
processing by simple PEs might be an ant colony.  

I would appreciate any ideas, literature references,
or other bits of information on these topics from the net.
If requested, I will post a summary of the responses.
