Unfortunately, I don't have the figures here (anyone have the mile vs year statistics?) but the curve went something like this: deaths |- | - _ | - _ | - _ | - _ | - - - | - _ ... and so forth | | |____________________________________ ^55 mph I assume the hump around the institution of 55 is an artifact, but it WAS there.
