A friend of mine had a mid-70's Audi Fox wagon with a Wolfsburg crest on the steering wheel - no great surprise since the car was essentially identical to the VW Dasher wagon. Perhaps that's where 'vuser' got the idea that the wolf was the Audi logo. AWR
