Adding to the fray, let me say that I have had fair luck with Roberk
blades and refills.  (Anyone out there who HASN'T, please feel free to speak
up.)  These aren't highly expensive (maybe a couple of bucks for two refills
or one wiper assembly).  The replacement wipers are of some kind of tough
black plastic, not metal, but they so far have held up just fine in Chicago's
worst since the beginning of last winter.  (And I figure if the rubber part
slips loose, like they did on occasion with the original blades, the plastic
body can't scratch the glass like metal could.)
