I started with The Floating Opera, which was given to me by a friend. I loved it but I never pursued any other books by him until I was assigned The End of the Road in a Sociology class in college. I felt that I could easily have been any of the three main characters in The End of the Road. I have enjoyed all of his books since then but I'll never forget my first reading of those two books. My recommendation, read Barth.
