The first was to use ice water (assisted by razor blades). I don't think this is a very good method, since the glue is designed to keep the labels on bottles floating in ice buckets. The other solution was to soak the bottles in a mild, warm solution of ammonia and water. Haven't tried it, but it sounds more likely to work.
