I've sat in some of the imitations and they are fairly
inferior -- also the real Balans are coming down in
price.  You should be able to find the "Balans Multi"
for $100 on sale.

It's possible Balans has patented some of the proportions
of the design, and the imitations can't approximate it too
closely.
