Followup note:  My last note and previous posting addresses the issue
of what kind of training is relevant for a career as a computer
professional.  This in not the same thing as asking what kind
of training is relevant for a degree in computer science.  My
feeling is that the CS degree is not the right degree for most
people who will be working in industry.  This is is not to put
down the value of CS which I follow with great interest.  It is
simply that applications and computer science are different
animals.
