for some real fun in registering a vehicle in calif - check out the
smog rule crap. i just got a car that was registered 2 weeks before
i got it (this process required a smog check - cost $27). for me to
transfer this vehicle over to my name - it requires another smog
check. what kind of bull shit is this?? 

i have 3 cycles at my place - all i do is move the plate around to
the appropriate vehicle - it is easier than paying the ridiculous 
fees they require. putting plates on the 5 cars is another matter...
