I'm having the damnedest time getting past level 4 on the
dungeon, not to mention in experience.  My main problems seem
to be connected to not being able to dodge wand rebounds, or
identify objects.  I have been killed countless times by bolts
of cold or death rays bouncing and hitting me, or by quaffing a
potion of poison or some equally unfortunate thing.  Is there a
way to identify items aside from happening to read a scroll that
turns out to be an identify scroll?  And how can I avoid things
like cold bolts and death rays?
