That's a little too unreliable for me. My favorite method is to dig a hole in the wall of the shop from the outside, before I go in and rip the guy off. You have to be pretty persistent to dig through such a hard wall, but it doesn't take long. By the way, when ripping off shopkeepers don't forget to first sell him everything you are carrying. It's a great way to load up on gold. You can sell him the bodies of things you killed outside the shop. Also, when selling things that come in bunches (e.g., rocks or arrows) sell them one at a time: the price is the same whether it's one or a bunch! All this applies to hack 1.0.2. A final note: I removed a 'usa' distribution from this message.
