Currently I'm in the midst of trying to arrange financing for a 
residential lot in the Half Moon Bay area of California, but I'm finding 
it difficult to locate a lending institution that will lend money on 
unimproved land.  Though I'm sure that lending institutions don't care 
one way or the other about my motives for attempting to purchase the 
property, I'm not getting into this for speculative reasons and I am 
planning to build a home on the property within the next 2 to 3 years.  

Can anyone out there recommend a bank or S & L in California (preferably
the Bay area or Los Angeles area) that is willing to make loans on land?
