The jokes were flying fast and furious at the prison, and one of the
newboys tried to join in.
  "57."
Dead silence.
  "What was wrong with that?" he asked his cellmate.
  "We're not too hot on homophobia jokes here."
The newboy tried again.
  "102."
Dead silence.
  "Don't think too much of shuttle jokes, neither."
  "112."
Mild laughter.
  "Not bad, but them dialect jokes are tricky to tell."
Then:
  "48."
Howling laughter for many minutes.
  "Now I really don't get it," the newboy remarked.
His cellmate answered:
  "We never heard that one before."

ALTERNATELY:

..."does anybody have change for a ten?"
   "Yup."

    .
    "Hey, this ten is counterfeit!"
    "Omigod, <insert easy-to-misunderstand punchline here>!"
