Redmond, WA Careful, guys! Apparently the amazing FLASHING GREEN LIGHT is a uniquely Canadian invention, and something of which all Canadians can be rightfully proud :-). However, they come in many different and exciting flavours. For clarification and repetition: In ONTARIO, where the original posting uh, originated, a flashing green is an advance green light, allowing left turns while opposing traffic is temporarily halted in order to allow such turns. In many other places, a green arrow serves the same function. In BRITISH COLUMBIA (where Paul saw his), a flashing green light usually occurs at a minor intersection, and indicates that the light can be controlled by a pedestrian. This means, of course, a little extra attention must be paid by the driver. (Sigh...) I wonder if I shall ever see a real mountain again ...
