We have obtained a Tektronix Smalltalk machine. (Currently 4404 but it will be upgraded to 4405). We are trying to use it under a Unix + Ethernet environment. Now, my questions are (1) Is there any public domain software for printing Smalltalk bitmap image (Form format) files to, say, a versatec printer connected to another machine (preferably written in C on Unix)? This is actually for hardcopying of the display. (2) I have obtained on Usenet a macro package for troffing Smalltalk printOut files. But, how can I get such files with macro commands? Is there anyway to get a printout with macro commands? Well, I can write a dirty filter to change some escape sequences to macros, but ... Sorry for rather primitive question, but our local Tektronix guys don't know much about running their Smalltalk machines under a Unix environment. They know about only standalone mode :-), and say "buy a Tektronix printer!"
