To acquire some fundamental knowledge in patent law (and related issues) would be very important for me. Thus, I have the following questions: 1. Is there any good books, articles on patent laws, the procedures for applying patents, things to caution, etc., that are good for beginners? 2. Is it advisable to apply for patents without the help of lawyers? How much efforts (time and money) would it cost for applying a patent by myself? How can I find out how to apply? 3. How much (roughly) would a lawyer charge? How a lawyer would help? Would the cost be justified by the time I save? Things in my mind to be patents are hardware designs (logic circuits) and algorithms. Any information is appreciated. Dik ..!cbosgd!osu-eddie!dlee dlee@ohio-state.arpa
