I received about 15 pieces of mail on the topic, including some from people within my own company. There was no (NONE) dissention among the responses. All said that soft contacts and especially extended wear contacts, won't last more than a year under normal circumstances. I still feel my eye doctor should have forewarned me about this - at least I would not have flamed so much. I doubt I'll go back to him again. Since then I've removed my contacts (instead of just sliding them to the side when they itch) and I'll probably get some new ones in the near future. I won't get the SILSIGHT brand again unless the insurance is lower. I've heard of another brand called (something) with a delta-k rating of 54 (and supposedly will last longer than soft), so I may look into these. In retrospect, I imagine I would have been happier had I never tried extended wear. Wearing hard contacts all the time, I never experienced the pleasure of sleeping in my contacts. *alas* Again, thanks to all those who answered - it was many more than I expected! bruce -- bang!- allegra!\ \ crash! \ gould9!--\ ihnp4! \ \ >--sdcsvax!---->--telesoft!bruceb (Bruce Bergman N7HAW) noscvax! / / scgvaxd! / sdencore!--/ ucbvax! / / talaris!-
