Immediately after I set the date, it still does not give me the correct one. My disks are such a mishmash of Workbench 1.0 and 1.1...could it be that I'm using a 1.0 Preferences with a 1.1 Workbench, or vice versa? (I always boot up with the 1.1 Kickstart.) That shouldn't affect the date command, though; and date still doesn't work. This is true of all the disks I've tried it on, so it's not an isolated error. 2) To LMC-TRANS@GUNTER-ADAM.ARPA (sorry, can't remember your name): That's strange, as I've never had to go through such a routine before. You see, I'm saving my documents _as_text_, and re- reading them in, as I am uploading them as messages to a local BBS which uses wordwrap (hence cannot use ed, because it inserts CRs after each line). Now apparently Textcraft defaults its own margins to 5 and 75 or whatever, and I change those to 0 and 80 to fit what they will look like on the BBS...but doesn't give me the extra neat margin anymore. Well, I'll try what you suggested. If it works I will be in your debt. {In case anyone local to Notre Dame heard me throwing things around last night and swearing very loudly, forgive me. It took my roommate awhile to calm me down. 8^)} nj, the Somewhat Annoying
