     If you are sure that ^C is being sent, check the setting for the 
     TUrnaround parameter: 03 means ^c (naturally) - and may be the default.

     - reset to carriage return.

     If this is not the problem, but something is happening on end of each line,
     try setting INfilter and OUtfilter to "on" and terminal type to a recogni
     zable type.  This is a kludge (it may work but you probably won't know
     why) - which I have made use of for several one-time accesses ...
