I have never skied in Western USA, but I have skied most of western Canada. (Like as soon as you guys make your buck more appealing I might try it!) I think you will find the skiing in Europe great. It is quite differnet from what I understand you are used to. Most of the REAL skiing is above the tree line in great wide open spaces. Lots of great little restaurants to stop at and have a feast and drink. They serve lots of good food there. You can find runs as hard or as easy as you want and as long or as short as you want. Be warned though that skiing there is skier beware. The trail markings are not as good as here and wandering off the trail can easily mean a trip off of some of the best unmarked air you ever took (ie. unmarked cliff). You can hire a guide to take you for a safe off trail run! I think it is worth it. Great skiing, great atmosphere. t.jones
