After replaing heds and packs, things worked fine until head crashes started occuring after a few more weeks. Finally, they gave up and took the drive to Poughkeepsie, where they replaced heads and packs again and ran it for several months with no failures. Yet once it went back to the customer, it started crashing after a few weeks. To make a long story short, they started looking for any differences between the customer site and their test lab. They finally found it: the packs sent to customers had quality control stickers on them. After a few weeks, some of the glue would work its way loose and find its way into the heads...
