The box contained the additional index register lights.  The original
ones were numbered 1,2,4 and the additional ones were 3,5,6,7.  The
Fortran compiler would use the extra index registers if you got
your loops nested, or used a lot of matrices in them.  The only
word I ever saw displayed up there was TILT.
