This is unprofessional. Of course, if lint itself doesn't pass lint, these arguments are invalid :-) This is an interesting discussion. If it's still going on 100 articles from now (that's how far behind I am) I'll post something on the subject (since I hold a 6.3 degree from MIT, one of the schools accused of not turning out good programmers). -- It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under.
