I especially like the stuff that Laura C. has written. Another area I would like to address is the recent exposure of "date rape" in the media, etc. In thinking about this, it has seemed to me at times that the woman's reluctance to go out may have been due to this type of experience; that once she said "yes" to just going out, it may have been taken as a "yes" to everything. So from then on she won't agree to a date with anyone unless she has already decided she's willing to go to bed with them. This seems like a plausible reason for declining an invitation to just spend some time together (which is all I intend when I ask for a date). How about a response from some women on this?
