Message-ID: <1674@hound.UUCP> Date: Fri, 28-Feb-86 09:07:09 EST Article-I.D.: hound.1674 Posted: Fri Feb 28 09:07:09 1986 Date-Received: Sat, 1-Mar-86 16:21:50 EST Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ Lines: 19 Re calling the cops over someone's pouring a drink in your lap, this could backfire, as: 1. It marks you as vindictive and over-reactive; in my old stomping grounds, it could also earn you a good bit of harrassment from Bubba and his buddies sitting at the other end of the bar; 2. It wastes the cop's valuable time (he should be out doing something more important, like busting jay-walkers) a point not likely to be lost on the cop, who might have a good memory; 3. It lets the pour-er know that they "got to you", a pleasure that I would prefer to deny them; No, I think the best response is to laugh it off, and then treat the pourer as if they were invisible. Anyhow, one should not go to bars wearing pants that can't stand a spilled drinky-poo once in a while.
