Interesting, indeed. As far as I have been able to tell, all of the men I have asked out cope with it pretty easily. I have gotten a couple of "Wow, what a surprise!" with pleased looks, but no one saying that I shouldn't ask them out because I am female... Sterotype! Sterotype!! Grin. People are people, and I feel flattered when guys ask me out. Whoops, a little background on that, I am not hurting for dates as in I am 5'10", 130#, have been wolf-whistled at and enjoy elegance in dress and movement. So, I don't ask men out out of desperation :), just out of wanting to go out with them. Hmmm... another factor might be that I was at Caltech as an undergraduate, and with the Ratio of many men to few women, it was where the women had to call the shots or else they would go down into flaming date heaven, grade-less...
