People at large are not only turned off by intelligence, they assassinate
intelligent people.  Look at Socrates, Jesus, Galileo, Spinoza, Gandhi,
Thoreau, Lincoln, Kennedy, King, Palme.  Then look at the assassins:
political authorities, religious authorities, fanatics and terrorists.

Face it, this planet is a very dangerous place for bright people.
The nose punchers are everywhere.
