Both answers are correct. The Senators team that moved to Texas in the early seventies was the second version of the Senators. The original Senators did indeed move to Minneapolis in the early sixties and became the Twins. The second version of the Senators, I believe, were part of the American League expansion for the 1969 season, which also saw the birth of the Kansas City Royals ( the A's moved to Oakland ) and the one year version of the Seattle Pilots.
