Folks, the ballots are in.

The control C business was cured by a stty intr etc deal. The school generously
(GAG BARF) provided us with .logins. They conflicted with what I normally use
(and no doubt a lot of other people). The system administrator "assumed" I knew
it all and went off on a tangent. From now on, I ask you guys.

I really appreciate all the good advice. I also appreciate your collective
good sense in responding by private mail rather than cluttering the net (unlike
some uncool groups). I'll try to use the manual next time. I mean its so
*clear* and *easy to read* :-) for relatively inexperienced people. (ramble
ramble)
