The cursor quickly pegs on the right margin. I have tried several values in the /etc/printcap entry for "fs" including "fs#24" as supplied by DEC and "fs#06320" as recommended by DEC and used on a couple of machines here, but to no avail. Setting CRMOD or not doesn't seem to work. The printer is an Ancient DECwriter III, but swapping the line to a VT100 does the same thing. The current /etc/printcap entry is: lp|The old DECwriter:\ :fs#06320:br#1200:lp=/dev/ttyh0:\ :of=/usr/lib/lpd:lf=/usr/adm/lpd-errs: Any suggestions on what I am missing? P.S. Thanx to all the answers I got about translating file pointers to file names. I have seen various Emacs's doing it, but I didn't realize what problems were involved. -- Doug Freyburger DOUG@JPL-VLSI, JPL Mail Stop 23 escher!doug, escher!teleop!doug Pasadena, CA 91109 etc.
